AIR SHAPE INDEX

Air Shape Index is an audiovisual performance and process for live collaboration by Jenna Caravello and Celia Hollander. Longtime collaborators born and raised in Los Angeles, Caravello and Hollander reflect on the forces and structures that affect Los Angeles air, and place their bodies in the midst of these systems. Throughout Air Shape Index, their audio/visual relationship invokes shifting conditions and the processes behind mapping these systems; Hollander builds musical compositions and Caravello uses custom video game software to plot and respond to Hollander’s input. At their respective workstations, Caravello and Hollander form a system of collaborative reflection on conditions before and after natural catastrophe, and seek understanding and a virtual framework for the air in their city.
